Emergency services called to incident which closes Smethwick railway station platform

Platform 1 (towards Worcester) at Smethwick Galton Bridge station has been forced to close due to an emergency services-led incident.
West Midlands Railway announced the platform closure at 5.25am this morning, saying that the platform will be closed 'until further notice'.
The group advised that those travelling towards Worcester should instead travel via Langley Green.
On X, the transport group said: "Emergency services are dealing with an incident at Smethwick Galton Bridge (High Level).
"Trains are unable to call at Platform 1 (Towards Worcester) until further notice.
"If travelling to Smethwick, you may need to travel to Langley Green and back on yourself."
Emergency services have been approached for more information.
