The improvements at Cannock Chase Country Park are part of a wider £18 million investment by Staffordshire Council to improve some of the county’s most popular countryside areas.
The council is investing £10 million of this funding to improve the overall visitor experience at Marquis Drive, showcase Cannock Chase’s status as a National Landscape, and promote understanding of the internationally rare habitats and wildlife within the Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
The council said the aim of the investment was to create a space that balances recreation with nature conservation, ensuring the iconic landscape was preserved for generations to come and is asking people to take five minutes to share their thoughts on these plans by completing an online survey.
Victoria Wilson, Staffordshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said: “Cannock Chase is such a special place, home to incredible wildlife and beautiful scenery.

"As we plan these improvements at Marquis Drive, it’s really important that we hear from the people who love and use the area.
“We want to make sure that everyone can continue to enjoy Cannock Chase, while also protecting its rare habitats for future generations.
"Whether you’re a regular visitor or new to the area, please take a few minutes to share your thoughts and help shape the future of this amazing landscape.”
The council said improvements at Cannock Chase form part of a broader £18 million investment in Staffordshire’s countryside, which includes £7 million to redevelop the Chasewater Innovation Centre and surrounding area, making it a top regional visitor destination, and £1 million to restore the 92-mile Staffordshire Way, improving accessibility and boosting local tourism.
