'Avoid the area': Fire breaks out in Heath Town, Wolverhampton, with warning for residents

People are being urged to avoid an area of the Black Country where a fire broke out in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, March 22).

Residents in a neighbourhood in Heath Town in Wolverhampton are being urged to keep their doors and windows closed as fire fighters tackle a blaze.

West Midlands Fire Service crews attended the incident at Alma Street. They posted an update at around 4am this morning with the latest warning coming at around 10am.

The latest update said: “We have several crews in attendance at Alma Street, Heath Town, responding to a fire. 

“As a precaution, if you live or work nearby, please keep doors and windows closed. Avoid the area, where possible. .”
