From Friday, Bilston Street the B4484 will be closed to southbound traffic for development work on the town's new railway station which is due to be in operation from March 2026.
The road will remain closed until August 11 between the New Road mini island to its junction with Rosehill for the work to be carried out by Transport for West Midlands contractors.
Today National Express West Midlands warned of a diversion on the Wolverhampton bound number 25 service from New Road and Walsall Street/Walsall Road via Crescent Road and Bilston Lane.

The 25 service to Pendeford will follow its normal line of route.
The new stations being built in James Bridge in Darlaston and in Willenhall are funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority with the help of £1 billion in funding from the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement.
Two trains per hour will call at both stations when the long-awaited schemes are completed.
