Zachary Brown, aged 29, admitted driving a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above the limit at Newcastle-under-Lyme Magistrates Court on Friday (March 14).

He was stopped by police the day before, after officers were called to Oulton Road shortly after 7pm, when it was reported Brown had been drinking and was seen getting into a car.

Officers stopped him driving a grey Volkswagen on Christchurch Way shortly after. He was arrested after a breath test.

He pleaded guilty to the offence in court and was also given a community order as part of his sentence, as well as being ordered to pay £199 in costs. He was also banned from driving for 22 months.
