Emergency services were called to Ripon Drive in West Bromwich at around 4.40pm on March 14 (Friday) and found a man in his 20s with serious injuries.

The dog, which is confirmed to have been an XL Bully, was Tasered by officers and died at the scene.

The victim remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Two other dogs were seized from the address and remain in police kennels.

Following the incident, a 32-year-old man handed himself in to police this morning (February 17), and was arrested on suspicion of possessing a dog dangerously out of control, and on suspicion of possession of a banned breed of dog.
