Applicant Richard Corbett, of Ridgeway Foods Ltd, Church Farm, Church Lane, wants to use land off Pottal Pool Road and Pillaton Lane for horse grazing and the building of two blocks of stables for livery.

The design and access report stated: "The application proposes to use some 23 acres of land for equine related recreational purposes and to erect two buildings each accommodating four stables and a tack room.
"The buildings would be seven feet high to the eaves - they would be constructed of timber with an onduline roof and sited adjacent to the hedgerow with Pottal Pool Road. The proposed development is located within the green belt."
The report added: "As far as vehicular access is concerned, this is an existing long established agricultural access with more than adequate space before the site entrance gates to accommodate waiting vehicles off the adjacent highway. It has been used for a range of agricultural uses on the land. The proposed level of traffic movements will certainly be no more than the historic levels. In conclusion, the proposal, therefore, represents an acceptable and appropriate form of development."
