The fire at Trident MCS on Mons Hill in Woodsetton saw crews from eight fire stations called into action after a call was made about the fire at 6.30am on Friday.
The crews battled the blaze, which broke out in a warehouse full of restored motorcycles, as large plumes of smoke and flames could be seen shooting out of the roof.
Residents living nearby were advised by West Midlands Fire Service to stay in their homes with the windows closed due to level one asbestos being present inside the concrete in the roof, while an acrid and foul-smelling metallic smell lingered in the air.

The owner of Trident MCS, Les Whiston, was present at the scene with his wife Denise and the 74-year-old spoke of his shock and devastation when he found out what had happened.
He said: "Denise woke up at about half six and told me to look out of the window and I saw the smoke in the air, so we came down here as quickly as we could.
"I'm devastated as there are bikes in there worth hundreds of thousands of pounds and I don't have any insurance and we haven't been able to get in yet, but I know that there's customer bikes in there.
