Dogan Zorba was arrested in February and charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and going equipped for burglary.

He was given bail and ordered to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court today (Thursday). However, he did not turn up and magistrates issued a warrant for his arrest.

Zorba, 20, of no fixed abode but with links to Hertfordshire, was stopped by police officers near New Street, Wednesbury at 3.30am on Wednesday, February 12.

Zorba also had a quantity of cannabis which led to a further charge of possessing a Class B drug.

A spokesman for Black Country Magistrates Court said: "The defendant has not attended court and a warrant without bail has been issued for his arrest."
