Second reading of Black Country MP's Crooked House bill delayed as he prepares to meet campaign group in London

The second reading of Black Country MP Mike Wood's pub protection bill will be heard next week after it was postponed for a week.

Kingswinford and South Staffordshire MP Mr Wood introduced the Heritage Public Houses Bill to Parliament in October last year, aiming to better protect heritage pubs like the Crooked House.

The bill was due to get its second reading in the house on Friday but it has now been put back to March 14.

At the time of its introduction he said:  "What happened to the Crooked House in 2023 was completely unforgivable and resulted in the destruction of an icon of our local heritage overnight.
