Peter Doyle was arrested in the early hours of March 2 after he was found to be carrying out a burglary at a business in Selly Oak, Birmingham.
The 47-year-old was later charged with multiple burglary offences and shop theft.
Doyle had carried out the offences between January and February, where he targeted businesses, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said.

Police carried out an investigation and secured CCTV images of the offences taking place.
Doyle, of Heeley Road near Selly Oak, Birmingham, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on March 3.
At court, he admitted a total of five offences and was then handed a 12-month jail term.
A police spokesperson said: "We know how frustrating shop theft is for business owners, and the wider community, and we'll always look to identify and arrest suspects.
"We carry out regular patrols - through both visible and plain clothed officers - to monitor retail areas and respond to issues.
"We'll continue to pursue jail terms and target those who cause harm to businesses and customers.
"It's important people report any incidents to us so we take action. You can do this by calling 101, or via Live Chat on our website. Always call 999 in an emergency."
