Could it be the warmest day of the year so far? Black Country to see temperatures hotter than Madrid

Spring will finally feel like it is on the way in the Black Country this week as temperatures are expected to be higher than Madrid.

According to the Met Office, Thursday (March 6) will be the warmest day of the week in the region with temperatures soaring to 16°C.

The weather experts have meanwhile predicted it will only be 13°C in Madrid, Spain, on the day.

The warm temperatures are expected to carry into the weekend, when the Black Country boroughs comprising of Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley will see temperatures reach 15°C on Saturday and 14°C on Sunday.

In its weather forecast for the West Midlands this week, the Met Office said: "Dry and sunny for a time on Thursday, but clouding over later. Some showery rain developing overnight and during Friday. 

"Skies brightening again on Saturday. Often breezy, but noticeably milder."

But colder weather could be on the way as the Black Country will see temperatures of just 3°C at the start of the day on Monday, March 10, which are then expected to rise to 11°C.
