A 41-year-old driver died after a car left the westbound A449 Penn Road near its junction with Vicarage Road and hit a wall at about 5.20pm on Saturday (March 1). Police have appealed for information or dash cam footage that could help with their investigation.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene following reports from members of the public of a collision.
The West Midlands Fire Service said crews from Wolverhampton and Tettenhall stations attended the scene along with ambulance service doctors and paramedics, and police officers.

When they arrived they found that a black Ford Focus had collided with a brick wall near a footpath.

Despite the efforts of the crews, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist police officers.

On Sunday morning, floral tributes and a written note as well as a HUGO baseball cap had been placed near the scene.

A handwritten note from a loved one was also left, saying: "We're absolutely devastated... Fly high my partner in crime. Love you always and forever."

West Midlands Police is investigating the circumstances around the crash and is appealing for anyone with relevant information or dash cam footage to get in touch.
