Driver caught after manhunt finally pleads guilty to injuring pedestrian in 2022 Walsall hit and run

A Black Country man has pleaded guilty to a hit and run incident in Walsall three years ago.

Zoaib Hussain, 24, of Borneo Street, Walsall, drove off after mowing down a pedestrian in his powerful black Seat Leon on Brace Street, Caldmore, on May 5, 2022.

The 32-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics and flown by air ambulance to Manor Hospital where he remained critical condition for several days. He was given emergency treatment for multiple injuries which still effect his physical and mental health almost three years afterwards.

Such was the impact of the collision Hussain's car's windscreen was smashed but this did not stop him driving away from the scene. However, his number plate was spotted during his getaway. 

West Midlands Police launched a massive manhunt trying to locate Hussain.
