A West Bromwich man has been jailed after strangling his former partner after she complained about him shirking his house cleaning duties.

Scott Harvey, 40, of Kelvin Way, West Bromwich, was sentenced for intentional strangulation,  assault causing actual bodily harm and harassment this week at Wolverhampton Crown Court

Harvey brutally attacked his former partner after she criticised his lack of housework and then after being charged with assaulting her besieged her with 160 calls in 24 hours.

Prosecuting Daniella Davidson-Jones said: "On January 9, last year, the defendant was at home with his then partner. 

"They began arguing and after she complained about his lack of housework in the previous week he attacked her.
