Bus services diverted as emergency services called to crash in West Bromwich

Buses were diverted following a two car crash on a main road in West Bromwich.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the crash on Walsall Road at 3.35pm.

A woman was assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene. 

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:  "We were called to reports of a two-car RTC on Walsall Road at 3.35pm, one ambulance attended the scene. 

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was assessed and discharged at the scene." 

National Express West Midlands urged public transport users to check ahead of travelling following the incident in Stone Cross, West Bromwich.

The incident was first reported by National Express West Midlands at around 3.35pm, with the group announcing that Services 4 and 4M would be diverting in both directions. 

A National Express West Midlands spokesperson said: "Due to an Emergency service lead incident at Walsall Road, Stone Cross, 4 and 4M are on diversion in both directions via: Hall Green Road, Ryding Lane and Heath Lane. 

"We apologise for any disruption to your journey."
