It was a right royal day for a Black Country police dog who gave a lending paw to preparations for the King's visit to Staffordshire.

PD Mickey and his handler Pc Paul Hopley based in Walsall carried out a sweep of the JCB factory in near Uttoxeter ahead on Monday's Royal Visit.


The West Midlands Police officer posted on the X network, formerly Twitter,: "Paul Hopley (@Hoppers71) on X One of, if not possibly the last formal duty I’ll ever do with PD Mickey was a defensive search this morning at @JCBmachines. He was part of the team ensuring the venue was safe for the King to visit. What an absolute privilege it is to do my job sometimes."
