National Highways has announced that the M6 will be closed between Junction 7 for Birmingham and Walsall and Junction 10 for Wolverhampton and Walsall and between Junction 12 and Junction 13 for Stafford from 9pm to 6am each night until Thursday.

The works on the section between Junctions 7 and 10 will be for carriageway resurfacing on both the northbound and southbound carriageways and on the slip roads, with both the northbound and southbound slips ways at Junction 7 closed.

The works between junctions 12 and 13 will also be on both the northbound and southbound carriageways and will be for maintenance work and electrical work.

National Highways said the works would run during the night and diversions would be put in place.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "M6 closed northbound and southbound Junction 7 to Junction 10 between 9pm and 6am until Thursday due to carriageway and slip road closures for carriageway resurfacing.

"M6 closed both directions Junction 10 to Junction 13 due to carriageway closure for maintenance works.

"Diversion route via National Highways and local authority network."
