Stafford Police seize car following stop to check 'excessive window tints & tinted plates'

Staffordshire Police posted the incident online after multiple offences were revealed following its decision to stop the motor.

Posting on its official X account, formerly Twitter, earlier today (February 23) the Force said it stopped the Mercedes M6 NB due to excessive window tints and tinted plates. 

Following the initial suspicion - which was 'correct' upon checking as only 16 per cent of light was passing through the front windows  - officers discovered the driver had no licence or insurance, forcing them to seize the car.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We stopped this Mercedes M6 NB due to excessive window tints & tinted plates. 

"Our thoughts were correct. 16 per cent of light passing through the front windows. 

"The driver also had no licence and no insurance, seized."
