Walsall man arrested on suspicion of possessing imitation gun on Birmingham train

A 21-year-old man from Walsall suspected of having an imitation gun has been arrested after a train passenger was threatened during an incident in Birmingham.

The alleged incident happened on a train between Aston Railway Station and Birmingham New Street at about 3.30pm on February 10 during an altercation between the man and other passengers. 

British Transport Police said one of the passengers was threatened. Now officers investigating what happened are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

There were delays and rail replacement services on the Cross City line after the same bridge was struck twice

The man was later arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place with intent to cause fear of violence. He has been given police bail with conditions and inquiries are ongoing.

On February 4 a police incident on a road in Aston led to delays for Cross City line passengers between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley after the area around the railway station was closed off.
