According to the British Coffee Association, the UK drinks 98 million cups of coffee daily, with more consumers choosing independent coffee shops, driving the sector’s 2.2 per cent growth to 12,212 outlets worth £4.6 billion. 

With National Caffeine Awareness Month coming up, new research from Reviva Coffee ranks Birmingham seventh among UK cities with the most independent coffee spots, with 274 cafés.

There's no doubt that Birmingham is a hotspot for most things - with it being the country's second biggest city - but where does The Black Country stand in the running?

Lois C, said: "Dropped by for a sausage sandwich on the way to work on Saturday morning. I waited for it to be cooked and when it was handed to me I thought I had someone else's order because it was so big! 

"I got to work and opened it, wow, it was the best Saturday morning sausage sandwich ever! I will definitely be going back for another one, loved it."
