Severn Trent Water has issued the apology to residents in Bilston after finding that some customers may have experienced no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water in the WV14 area of Bilston on Friday afternoon.
In the message to customers, Severn Trent said it had been carrying out some essential repair work, but had been informed that some supplies had been impacted.
It said that engineers would be working to get the problem resolved quickly, with repairs scheduled to be completed by 8pm.
A spokesman for Severn Trent Water said: "We’d like to apologise to those experiencing no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water in the WV14 area of Bilston this afternoon.
"Our teams are carrying out some essential repair work.
"Although we didn’t anticipate this affecting our customers, we are aware that some customer’s supplies have now been impacted.
"The team on site are committed to getting this resolved quickly and efficiently so the water supply is back to normal as soon as possible.
"We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing and are confident this repair will be completed by 8PM.
"We’ll make sure this page is updated as we receive more information."
