The project to carry out accessibility improvements at the headquarters of Dudley-based charity, Provision House, has been completed thanks to two grants totalling £48,799 from Enovert Community Trust, through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF).
Located at the former Blunts Shoes building on Dudley High Street, Provision House was founded in 2004 and offers a variety of community resources, including a community re-use shop, food club, home starter packages, room hire, training courses, and many supported volunteering opportunities.
The project delivered several accessibility improvements including the installation of a platform lift to the first floor and renovations to the entrance hall to deliver a fully accessible and welcoming gateway to Provision House’s more than 500 weekly users.
In addition, the overall appearance of the entrance has been improved with the installation of new heavy duty floor tiles.
Mark Price, CEO of Provision House, said: “I’d like to thank Enovert Community Trust for its generous grants which have made this project possible.
"Whether people are accessing Provision House for a service, to use the shop, or for a community event it is essential that everyone using the centre can get in without assistance.
"The renovations have made a huge difference, ensuring that we can continue to support all members of our community effectively and inclusively.”
Angela Haymonds, Trust Manager of Enovert Community Trust, said: “The Trust is delighted to have supported this important project to improve the entrance at Provision House to ensure the centre can provide an accessible space for all members of the community.”
Provision House is located three miles from Himley Landfill Site.
