Emergency services rush to scene following 'incident' in Walsall bus station

Emergency services rushed to the scene of St Pauls Bus Station, on St Pauls Street, Walsall, at around 6.38pm last night to reports of a medical emergency taking place in the bus station.

One ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene, on arrival discovering one man who did not want to be assessed. 

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency at St Pauls Bus Station, Walsall at 6.38pm yesterday, one ambulance attended the scene. 

"On arrival, we discovered one male patient who did not wish to be assessed, so we were stood down from the scene."

According to eyewitnesses at the scene at the time of the incident, at least two or three police vehicles were seen at the scene, with one man being seen 'lying on the floor'.

Emily Orton said on Facebook: "When I came through after work, there was one person lying on the floor by the traffic lights with paramedics just getting to them. 

"The 32 double-decker bus was blocking the route so the emergency services could attend. There were three police vehicles and two ambulances when I walked past."

Transport group, Transport for West Midlands alerted of possible disruptions due to the incident, with services returning to normal around an hour later. 

On X, the group said at the time: "St Paul's (Walsall) bus station. Disruption to services in and out of the station.

"Emergency services incident on St Paul's Street Service. disruption possible."

West Midlands Police have been approached for more information.
