Professor Jenni Jones has been promoted to Professor in Coaching and Mentoring following a rigorous application process.
She joined the University 20 years ago as a Senior Lecturer before going onto become a Principal Lecturer and Associate Professor, whilst studying for a Master’s in Education and a PhD in Mentoring and Learning.
Prior to joining the University of Wolverhampton, Jenni had previously worked in private, public and not for profit sectors, in HR, training, development and management roles, giving her a great grounding for a teaching and research role at the University.
In 2024, Jenni became a Principal Fellow of Advance HE and was also awarded a National Teaching Fellowship. The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme celebrates and recognises individuals who have made an outstanding impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession in higher education.

Reflecting on her promotion of becoming a Professor, Jenni said: “It feels amazing. I’ve always had ambitions of being a Professor and the University of Wolverhampton has given me the platform to be able to be one.
"It’s been great to have been involved in so many different projects and work with so many inspiring people over the years, which has given me the opportunity to be ready for this position.
“I’ve had an amazing journey so far at the University of Wolverhampton. The support and encouragement along the way has been incredible.
"I could not have got to where I am today without all the love, support and guidance from all my fabulous colleagues, inside and outside the University. I hope to continue to pay this forward by helping others to similarly realise their dreams.”
A spokesperson for The University of Wolverhampton said: "Anyone wanting to study at the University should check out the website for our range of courses or visit us at one of our forthcoming Open Days."
