Man, 19, appears in court charged with attempted murder after 33-year-old man left with head and hand wounds in Wolverhampton

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a man was attacked in Wolverhampton.

Faisal Hussain, of no fixed address, was charged with attempted murder after he was arrested on Tuesday morning from an address in Tipton.

The 19-year-old was arrested by officers investigating an assault on Barcroft Road, Blakenhall on Thursday afternoon.

During the incident, a 33-year-old man was chased before being attacked, where he suffered head and hand injuries. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A man was arrested on Tuesday morning from an address in Tipton by officers investigating an assault on Barcroft Road on Thursday afternoon (13 February).

"A 33-year-old man was chased and suffered head and hand injuries during the incident."

Three other men were arrested, later being released on police bail pending further investigation. 

Hussain was charged with attempted murder and possession of a Class B or C drug. 

The 19-year-old appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court where he was remanded into custody.

He will appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 19.
