Rail passengers heading through the Black Country are set to face a day of disruption due to engineering works on the line near Birmingham.

National Rail announced that there would be engineering work on the line between Snow Hill and Kidderminster on Sunday.

The works will affect services run by West Midlands Railway and Chiltern Railways and see rail replacement bus services run between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stourbridge Junction until 4pm.

It means that passengers on Chiltern Railways services will face rail replacement buses between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stourbridge Junction and West Midlands Railway passengers between Snow Hill and either Stourbridge Junction or Kidderminster.

A spokesman for National Rail said: "The engineering works will affect you if you are travelling with Chiltern Railways or West Midlands Railway services until 4pm.

"Chiltern Railways services will start and terminate at Birmingham Moor Street and a replacement bus service will be provided by West Midlands Railway and operate between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stourbridge Junction until 4pm.

"West Midlands Railway services between Stratford upon Avon or Dorridge and Worcester via Birmingham Snow Hill will run between Stratford upon Avon or Dorridge and Birmingham Snow Hill and between Kidderminster and Worcester only.

"Rail replacement buses will operate between Birmingham Snow Hill and either Stourbridge Junction or Kidderminster."
