Officers from Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team stopped the van at Doxey on the M6 and, after inspecting the van, found it to be 21 per cent overweight.
The force has issued a warning about overladen vehicles, saying that they put other road users at risk due to affecting the stopping distance.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team said: "The Milk man was stopped on the M6 at Doxey as it was 21 per cent overweight.
"Driving a vehicle over the laden weight puts road users at risk as your stopping distance is affected, which could be vital in an emergency."
