However, proving romance is not dead, due to Julian Bunn, 52, pleading guilty to possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, similar charges against his 75-year-old wife Christine were not pursued and will lay on file. She left court a free woman.
The pair were arrested in Oldbury on August 27, last year, and caught with crack cocaine, cannabis and were charged with possessing a class A drug with intent to supply.
They appeared at a January hearing at Dudley Magistrates Court but before the matter went to trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court agreed to a deal where Mr Bunn admitted his guilt to all charges.
Mr Bunn originally told the police he had found the drugs in his local park but later admitted he had been involved in major dealing due to running up drug debts to ensure his wife was not prosecuted.
