From Bilston to Nashville - UK country band set to wow America after being invited to legend Luke Combs' new venue

Fresh from playing sold out gigs at The Robin Bilston, Dudley Town Hall and other UK venues, members of Luke Combs UK flew off to the USA on Thursday for a road trip of gigs.

And as part of the tour, they will play at the grand opening of Luke Comb's new entertainment venue in Nashville - Category 10 - in April.

Combs saw his cover of Tracy Chapman's Fast Car streamed more than 65 million times on Spotify in less than two months and won song of the year at the Country Music Awards (CMAs) in 2023.

He sells out concerts worldwide and, in common with many of his peers, has opened his own venue in the home of country music, Nashville.

Lead singer of Luke Combs UK Liam Price said he started the band in July 2023 when he 'became tired' of singing general cover songs and decided to do something different, recruiting talented musicians from Wolverhampton and Telford.

He admits the explosion of interest in country music in the UK and Europe was partly behind the idea, as well as his uncanny resemblance to the real Luke Combs.

And it has paid off,  with Luke Combs UK selling out venues all over the UK and Ireland - they are also regulars at Rodeos bar in Wednesfield.

Liam said the plan was always to go to the USA and showcase the act there but it has only come after a lot of hard work and the invitation from Luke Comb's management was the icing on the cake.

He said: "This is beyond our wildest dreams.

“To be recognized by Luke Combs himself and invited to play at his venue in Nashville is something we never imagined when we started out.

"But it is also down to hard work and in the first year of the band we played over 100 dates getting our name and his music out there.

"We also had to do a lot of promotion media wise around the UK wide tour to help secure a visa for the American gigs.

"That also involved contacting Luke's management and we were amazed to be invited to play at his new venue.

"We are only playing at one of the bars in the complex just off Broadway in Nashville - it is a very big venue but it is an honour be asked to appear on the opening night."

The band kick off the tour in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania tonight (Friday) and are also booked to play the NFL draft event in Green Bay a week after the Nashville gig before returning to North America for a short Canadian tour in August.
