The men were arrested after three Tamworth homes were searched on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into vehicle theft conspiracy following a spate of incidents including in the town and in neighbouring Lichfield

Other incidents thought to be linked are being investigated in partnership with the Leicestershire and Warwickshire police forces.

Tamworth and Lichfield local policing teams working with specialist officers went to the properties armed with search warrants.

As a result a 20-year-old man from Tamworth has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and dangerous driving.

A 28-year-old man from Tamworth and a 31-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, have both been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.

Staffordshire Police has asked for anyone with any information about the disorder to get in touch

Sgtt Sian Moran, from the Tamworth police, said: “We are committed to tackling vehicle crime and working closely with our neighbouring forces to target those involved in organised thefts.

"These searches form part of our ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal activity and protect the belongings of our communities.

“We’re working hard every single day across Staffordshire to relentlessly pursue those involved in theft, robbery and burglary.”

The force said it recently secured the evidence needed to sentence a gang of 11 men for a vehicle theft conspiracy worth an estimated £1.1million.
