'Long delays' after M54 crash between Albrighton and Wolverhampton involving cars and a bus

Around three miles of congestion remained as the M54 reopened following a collision on Wednesday morning.

Traffic had come to a stop following a "multi-vehicle collision" on the M54 at around 7.15am on Wednesday.

The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway between J3 Albrighton and J2 Wolverhampton.

Police and National Highways Traffic Officers were on scene.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Police were called to a collision on the M54 eastbound, close to junction 3 at around 7.15 this morning (12 February) involving two cars and a bus. 

"The road was partially blocked but reopened by 8.20am."

At around 8.50am, AA Traffic News said: "Long delays due to earlier crash, multiple vehicles involved on M54 Eastbound at J3 A41 Newport Road (Albrighton). 

"All lanes have been reopened after two brief holds. Travel time is around 45 minutes."

West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police have been approached for comment.
