The youngsters from Busill Jones Primary School in Bloxwich were introduced to James Brindley Foundation founder Mark Brindley at a special event at Ormiston Shelfield Academy.
The event on Monday was a chance for the youngsters to talk to Mark about what they had learned about knife crime, where blade disposal bins are located across Walsall and why they wanted to be knife ambassadors as a podcast on Kic FM.
It was also an opportunity for them to learn more about Mark Brindley's experiences with knife crime, having lost his son James to an incident in 2017, and his efforts to tackle incidents through the James Brindley Foundation.
The project, set up last October, is being piloted at Busill Jones Primary School and aims to raise awareness and educate pupils about the dangers of carrying knives, laws surrounding them and the potential consequences of their misuse.
