Two men arrested after shots fired at house in Oldbury

Two men have been arrested nearly a week after shots were fired at a house in Sandwell.

The incident took place on Wednesday, February 5 at around 4.30am and saw shots fired at a house on West End Avenue, with no injuries reported, but damaged caused to a window, door and vehicle.

After an investigation was launched by West Midlands Police, warrants were executed in Oldbury at two addresses on Tuesday morning, with two men arrested.

The force confirmed that two 27-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remain in custody for questioning.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Two men have been arrested after shots were fired in Smethwick last week.

"At around 4.30am last Wednesday, shots were fired at an address on West End Avenue.

"Thankfully no one was injured but damage was caused to a window, door and a vehicle.

"Following enquiries, officers executed warrants at addresses in Oldbury this morning and two men were arrested in connection with the incident.

"The men, both aged 27, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remain in custody for questioning.

"We remain committed to identifying and arresting offenders who use guns and knives on our streets as part of Operation Target.
