Stalls included a tombola and cakes and Tracy hopes when all the money is counted and the donations are in from the web page, the total will reach £260.

Known as the Dougie Mac, the charity provides  hospice services to adults, young adults and children living with life-limiting illnesses in Stoke-on-Trent and throughout Staffordshire, including Stafford.

Former events worker Tracy, aged 47, moved to Stafford from Bolton three years ago and had to give up work but has raised awareness of and money for the charity in memory of a friend who died.

She said: "When I lived up north my friend didn't qualify for hospice support and I heard so much about the Dougie Mac when I moved, including from families of people it had helped out. It seems to be a wide reaching organisation geographically and with who it benefits.

"I set up a JustGiving page and organised the day by way of appreciation and to let people know about its services, which are entirely funded by donations. It's only a small thing but I just hope it will go some way to helping raise awareness of the Dougie Mac.

"I would like to thank everyone who attended or contributed on the day and has done so through the web page which is still open."
