Green Duck Brewery have produced the tribute to Sunbeam, which is called Bonks's Solarbeam and which follows the style of the beer as a blonde beer with a citrus hop aroma and a mixture of fruity tastes.
The beer had been a staple of Banks's for years, but was one of the beers announced by Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing company as being cut from production in November, with the company citing a decline in demand as the reason for it no longer being brewed.
Green Duck owner Alex Hill said that he and the other members of the brewery had decided to make a one-off batch of the beer as a bit of fun, but also to highlight the loss of brewing in Wolverhampton.
He said: "We saw that they were getting rid of brewing a lot of beers in Wolverhampton, including Mild and Sunbeam, and we've had our own mild for about five years and we're very happy with it and it's award-winning.
