10 crews respond to major fire near Stourbridge as residents warned to 'close windows and doors'

Residents have been warned to close windows and doors as fire crews battle a major blaze near Stourbridge.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of Hayes Lane, Lye, near Stourbridge, at around 6pm today (Saturday) to reports of a major blaze affecting a building in the area. 

Residents of the area have been urged to close their windows and doors while fire crews respond to the scene, with West Midlands Fire Service warning to 'avoid the area where possible'.

The fire service warned on X: "We have ten crews in attendance at a fire on Hayes Lane, Lye area of Stourbridge.

"As a precaution, if you live or work nearby, please keep doors and windows closed. Avoid the area, where possible." 

Pictures from the scene show the severity of the blaze, with firefighters seen working to extinguish the flames.
