Saeed Chafekar was greeted by a large number of well wishers on his last day at Windmill Hill Post Office in Halesowen on Wednesday before moving to Perry Barr in Birmingham to take over a post office there.

The 54-year-old said the post office had been like his second home for the 32 years he had been there and spoke about what had made the time there so special for him.

He said: "In the 32 years I have been here, I have been around some of the best people and a lot of them have become friends and have been part of my life and part of my family.

"There are people here who have been paperboys for me in the past and who now have grandchildren, so I've seen families with four generations come through this shop.
