The supermarket chain has confirmed that its new Wombourne store on Bridgnorth Road will officially open on Thursday, February 20.

The opening will be marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Lord Mayor of Wombourne, Councillor Vince Merrick.

The store will be open from 8am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays, with the store offering Lidl Plus offers and complimentary food sampling throughout the opening weekend.

Spanning 1,225m², the store will feature the discounter’s bakery, Middle of Lidl, and customer facilities, including toilets with baby-changing stations.

Outside, there will be ample parking for both cars and bicycles, including electric vehicle charging points, whilst solar panels on the roof will help power the store.

The multi-million-pound investment is also creating around 40 new jobs, with Lidl saying that colleagues will receive one of the highest rates of pay in the sector.

Joe Caunt, Regional Head of Property at Lidl GB, said: “It’s fantastic to announce the opening of our first-ever Wombourne store.

"With many in the area previously travelling to Kingswinford for our affordable, high-quality products, this new store will make shopping much more convenient.

"We’re excited to become part of the local community and can’t wait to welcome customers through the doors in the coming weeks.”
