Mayor of Wolverhampton helps Cosmo guests to celebrate Lunar New Year
The Mayor of Wolverhampton helped families and children to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year by providing goodie bags at a popular restaurant.

Councillor Linda Leach visited Cosmo restaurant at Bentley Bridge to celebrate the Lunar New Year on February 1 at an event marking the Year of the Snake and hand out goodie bags to children.
The Mayor was joined by Kan Koo, partner and executive director of the Cosmo Group, who has recently been recognised in the King’s Honours List and awarded an MBE for his outstanding contributions to the hospitality industry.
Speaking at the event, Councillor Leach praised Cosmo for its dedication to the local community.
She said: “It’s wonderful to see so many families here celebrating the Lunar New Year. Events like this bring people together and highlight the rich cultural diversity in Wolverhampton.
"Cosmo has always been a fantastic supporter of our community, and I’m delighted to join them in making this day special for children and their families.”
Mr. Koo expressed his gratitude for the recognition he has received and his commitment to giving back.
He said: “Being awarded an MBE is a tremendous honour, but the real joy comes from sharing moments like this with the community.
"The Lunar New Year is about family, prosperity, and new beginnings, and we’re proud to celebrate with the people of Wolverhampton.”
The restaurant was decorated with traditional Chinese ornaments, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, with families enjoying a lively celebration.
Guests also had the opportunity to experience Cosmo’s buffet, featuring a variety of dishes symbolising luck and prosperity.
Cosmo has built a strong reputation for its charitable initiatives, regularly supporting local causes and organisations and the restaurant frequently engages in community projects, from food donations to fundraising events, demonstrating its commitment to giving back.
