West Midlands Police have announced that a man in Erdington has been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences after he was spotted on Erdington High Street.

Officers arrested the 20-year-old on Monday after spotting him on the high street in possession of cannabis.

Following the arrest, officers then searched the address, also finding a large amount of cannabis on the property.

A second man, also aged 20, was also later arrested.

The arrests come as West Midlands Police continue Operation Fearless, their campaign to lower the level of crime in the region and improve the quality of life for Erdington residents.

Detective superintendent Jim Munro, leading Operation Fearless, said: "We’re continuing to focus on crimes we know matter most to people living in Erdington.

“Local residents tell us they’re concerned about drug-related offences around the High Street and our officers are conducting specific operations to target this.

“Working in partnership with other policing teams, the council, and community groups - we will not let up in trying to make Erdington a safer place to live, work, and visit."
