St James's Councillor Cathryn Bayton said she had been alerted to large amounts of timber, furniture, industrial waste and other rubbish being left on the road outside Milking Bank Primary School on Aintree Way in Dudley around 9pm on Monday evening.

She said she had alerted the out-of-hours team at Dudley Council to the rubbish outside the school in order to get the Environmental team down to the school, while also saying that one of her fellow ward councillors, Councillor Asif Ahmed had gone down to help with clearing the area, with the rubbish fully removed from the area on Tuesday morning.

She also spoke of her frustration and anger at what had been left on the road.

She said: "I reported it to the council out-of-hours team to get the team down there, while Councillor Ahmed went down to the street and gave residents a hand with physically moving the rubbish out of the road and onto the side, ready for the council to collect it, which they did this morning.

"I think it's outrageous that someone thinks this is acceptable and it makes you feel very angry, because why, on a residential road outside of a school, does anybody think that this is an acceptable thing to do?

"I'm hopeful that anyone who has Ring doorbell or CCTV footage of the incident will be able to help identify who did this."

Councillor Bayton also offered her thanks to her fellow councillor and residents for their hard work and asked that people do the proper checks in future on anyone who might be disposing of their waste for them.

She said: "I would say to anyone who is asking for rubbish to be removed from their homes to please make sure that whoever you deal with is a properly licensed trader.

"I just want to say an absolutely huge thank you to everyone who cleared the waste as this is a sign of a community coming together and taken their own initiative.

"Without that, the roads would have been blocked and there might have been the potential for a road traffic accident, which is the last thing we would have wanted, so thank you to all."

Dudley Council and West Midlands Police have been contacted for a comment.
