Police name Staffordshire woman who died as investigation continues

A woman who died in Staffordshire prompting a police investigation has been named.

Officers were called by ambulance crews to the home of Philippa Lewitt on Devereux Gardens in Great Haywood, near Stafford, shortly after 5.10pm on Wednesday (January 29), Staffordshire Police said.

The 46-year-old, known affectionately as Pippa, later died. Specialist officers are said to be supporting her family at this time.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman confirmed a man has been charged with breaching a restraining order following Ms Lewitt's death.

Bryan Jones, of Rugeley, has been charged with the offence.

The 50-year-old appeared at Newcastle-Under-Lyme Magistrates Court on Saturday (February 1) where he was bailed ahead of his next appearance at a date and time to be confirmed.

A 24-year-old man, from the Stafford area, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug has been bailed with conditions as police continue their investigation.
