Train worker suffers broken nose in attack at Black Country railway station - appeal launched

A railway worker suffered a broken nose after being assaulted at Rowley Regis Railway Station.

The worker was struck by a male passenger suspected of being verbally abusive on a train that was running from Birmingham at about 2pm on Tuesday (January 28).

As a result of the injury the victim was treated at hospital.

Now British Transport Police has released an image of the culprit suspected of carrying out the attack, in a public appeal for help to identify him.

It stated: "At around 2pm on Tuesday (January 28) a man was verbally aggressive towards a member of staff. He disembarked the train and once on the platform he assaulted the member of staff which required hospital treatment for a broken nose.

"Officers would like to speak to the man in the image as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation."

Anyone who recognises the man pictured should contact the force by texting 61016 or by phoning 0800 40504, quoting reference 371 of January 28.
