Bilston school gets go-ahead to build new classroom block for 150 extra pupils
A Black Country school has been told it can go ahead with plans to build a new classroom block as it looks to take 150 extra pupils.
Ormiston SWB Academy in Dudley Street, Bilston, has been granted permission to build a new classroom block after more than 100 children missed out on a place at the school last year because there was not enough capacity.
The school plans to increase each year group from 200 to 230 pupils for the school year starting September.

Ormiston Academies Trust, which runs more than 40 schools across the country including several in the Black Country and Birmingham, said it planned to build five new classrooms at the Bilston site including new rooms for IT and business classes, as well as upgrade the school’s existing design and technology workshop and build an extra science lab in the main school building.
The new block will include a dining room, tea bar, sensory room and offices.
