We waited months and months to hear Donald Trump's solution to the Gaza problem. What brilliant insight would he bring to a tribal war which has been fought, on and off, for the past 9,000 years?

And then the newly elected Trump revealed his Gaza plan. Basically, it is to deport perhaps 1.5 million Palestinians from the territory and “clean it out.” I can't be the only one thinking of Warsaw, 1943.

While both the Jews and the Palestinians see Gaza as their God-given territory, I suspect Trump simply sees a valuable strip of land adjoining the Mediterranean and with a perfect climate. The rest of the world sees a nightmarish and intractable problem. The Donald sees a golf resort.
