The 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, had originally faced two counts of assaulting police officers on November 26, along with a list of other assault charges and Leo's murder.
The 14-year-old was not required to attend Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, where a two-minute Youth Offending Team application for a 'non-court disposal' of the charged pertaining to November.
The boy is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on April 22 to enter pleas to charges of murder, possessing a bladed article, and four remaining counts of assault.
The two officers who were assaulted were named in court on Thursday as PC Dawson Jones and PC Jessica Wright.
Leo, a student at Christ Church C of E Secondary Academy in Yardley Wood, was believed to have been walking home from school when he was attacked and stabbed in the Hall Green area of Birmingham on January 21.
Following the incident, members of the public rushed to his aid, notifying emergency services, however, 13-year-old Leo sadly died in hospital later on the same day.
A tribute released following his death described him as an "amazing, kind and loving boy" with vigils also being held at two churches in Hall Green and Yardley Wood.
