Man arrested after police find cash and £1,000 worth of cannabis in Rugeley

A man has been arrested after police found around £1,000 worth of cannabis in Rugeley.

Officers stopped a group of people on Springfield Road at about 3.50pm on Monday (January 27) and detained a man as well as seizing his phone.

After searching an address in the area, police found the drugs and items including scales, another mobile phone and £265 in cash.

A 25-year-old man from Rugeley was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and supply a controlled class B drug (cannabis).

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue, a Staffordshire Police spokesperson said.
