Police enquiries ongoing into Brownhill crash involving mobility scooter which left man, 78, in critical condition

Police enquiries remain ongoing into a crash involving a mobility scooter and a car in Brownhills which left an elderly man in a critical condition.

Officers were called to the collision on Chester Road North, close to The Park View Centre, shortly after 10pm on Saturday (January 25).

A 78-year-old man, who was riding the mobility scooter, was treated at the scene for a number of serious injuries and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham in a critical condition.

Another man, aged 32, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving but was later released under investigation.

A West Midlands Police spokesman confirmed on Monday morning enquiries into the crash remain ongoing.
