Man, 78, in 'critical condition' after collision between mobility scooter and car in Walsall

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 78-year-old man was left in a critical condition when the mobility scooter he was on was in a collision with a car in Brownhills.

Officers were called to Chester Road North, close to The Park View Centre, shortly after 10pm on Saturday where they found the man with 'a number of serious injuries'. 

He was treated at the scene and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where he remains in a critical condition.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and was later released under investigation.

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the collision, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward and anyone who may have dashcam footage.
